Why this exists

Good inventions we will not take to market

Alpha Inception invents more than it can bring to market. Our idea foundry produces inventions in healthcare, agriculture and other fields where the benefit would be widespread, and for some of them the cost of patent prosecution, marketing and going to market outweighs the return for a company of our size. That is a fact about us, not about the idea.

When we know for certain that we will not proceed with an invention, and it could help people, we publish it here rather than keep it in a vault. Take, as an illustration, a new way to deliver an off-patent drug: useful to patients, but not something we will take through development ourselves. An invention like that belongs in the open, with terms that let anyone use it.

This is a gift, not a discard pile. Each listing is published with a date and a hash, so it stands as dated prior art that nobody, including us, can later fence off. We say why we are not proceeding, what the invention is good for, and who we have shared it with. We favour releasing the inventions with the widest public benefit first.

Free to use. Each write-up is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0. Copy it, change it, build on it, sell what you build.

We will not patent it. Alpha Inception will not seek patent protection on anything listed here.

We will not assert a patent over it. We will not assert any patent we hold against a use of an idea as described in its listing.

Dated and hashed. Every listing shows its publication date and a SHA-256 of its text, so it stands as dated prior art.

As is. No warranty, no support, and no claim that any idea works or is free of someone else’s rights. Check before you build.
